Patch guide
How to attach a patch: sew-on or iron-on
The right attachment depends on the garment fabric, how often it will be washed and whether the patch needs to be removable. Check backing compatibility before applying heat.

Sew-on backing for a permanent fit
Place the patch where you want it and secure it with pins or temporary fabric tape. Stitch around the edge with a suitable needle and strong thread, keeping the patch flat as you work. Sewing is a dependable method for regular wear and fabrics that should not be exposed to high heat.
Iron-on backing for compatible fabrics
Use a firm, heat-safe surface and follow the garment and patch care instructions. Protect the patch with a pressing cloth, apply even pressure for the recommended time and allow it to cool before checking the bond. Delicate, waterproof or heat-sensitive fabrics may not be suitable; sewing can provide extra security.
Other attachment options
Hook-and-loop backing allows removal on compatible panels. Adhesive backing can be useful for temporary display but is not intended as a substitute for a permanent garment attachment.
