How iron-on patch backing works
Iron-on backing uses heat and pressure to bond a patch to a suitable fabric. Application conditions vary by garment, backing and patch material, so follow the instructions provided with the order and check the garment care label first. A pressing cloth and firm heat-safe surface can help protect the design during application.
Check fabric compatibility before applying
Some delicate, waterproof or heat-sensitive fabrics may not be suitable for heat application. Test a hidden area if appropriate and avoid applying heat to materials that may melt or be damaged. If the garment is washed often, or if you are uncertain about its fabric, sew-on attachment may be a better option or may add extra security.
