Materials for kit and equipment
PVC offers a flexible, water-resistant surface and works well for bold shapes and layered designs. Embroidery gives insignia a familiar stitched appearance, while woven construction can preserve smaller text and fine lines. The best choice depends on the artwork and the conditions where the patch will be used.
Plan attachment and legibility
Hook-and-loop backing is commonly requested for compatible panels because it allows a patch to be removed or changed. Sew-on backing is suitable for a more permanent attachment. Consider the viewing distance, patch size and contrast so names, symbols and lettering remain easy to read.
