Patch guide
Embroidered vs woven patches: how to choose
Both styles are made with thread, but they create different surfaces. Compare the texture, detail and intended use to decide which one fits your design.

How embroidered patches look
Embroidery stitches thread onto a fabric base, creating a raised, tactile surface. It suits bold artwork, strong outlines and designs where a traditional stitched appearance is part of the look. Very small lettering or fine gradients may be harder to reproduce clearly.
How woven patches look
Woven patches form the design from tightly woven threads, giving them a smoother and usually flatter surface. This construction can help with small lettering and finer details. It is a good option for detailed logos that need to remain legible at a compact size.
Which should you choose?
Choose embroidered when texture and a classic stitched finish matter most. Choose woven when your artwork has fine lines or small text. Your final result also depends on the patch dimensions and artwork, so share your file and placement for advice. See our embroidered patch options and woven patch options.
